Box Office Bucket List

Box Office Bucket List is a show hosted by four friends to find out which movies you need to see before you die. The episodes are split into categories and each episode one of the hosts will nominate a movie that they believe is worthy to be on the Bucket List. After each host has had their movies reviewed, for better or worse, the 5th episode in each category is The Debate. During these debates the hosts will fight like hell to get their movie on that list.

Road Trip: Dark Country

Monday Sep 22, 2025

Monday Sep 22, 2025

In the last episode of our Road Trip category, Box Office Bucket List hosts Tim, Andrew, Adam and Katie tackle Adam’s pick: Thomas Jane’s 2009 thriller Dark Country.
The hosts discuss key scenes (the roadside crash, the mysterious rest area, the repeating lightning and the mass graves), the film’s low-budget 3D origins, standout makeup effects and the moments that made them rewind and rewatch. They trade theories about whether the story is supernatural limbo, a repeating loop tied to guilt, or something else, and compare notes on the movie’s pacing, green-screen choices and performances. The hosts reflect on how Dark Country rewards multiple viewings: it’s confusing, eerie and divisive, but memorable enough to spark a deep, repeatable discussion.

Road Trip: Grind

Tuesday Sep 16, 2025

Tuesday Sep 16, 2025

A rowdy group of young skateboarders set out on a cross-country road trip to get sponsored, bringing along loud personalities, wild skate montages, and a pounding early-2000s soundtrack. They bumble through karaoke-like party scenes, motel honeymoon suites, and chaotic demos, collide with rival crews, and face personal moments—like abandoned clown parents, jealous friendships, and unexpected romances. Between cameos, improvised humor, and nonstop skate sequences, the film blends coming-of-age growth with goofy stunts and anthemic songs. This episode revisits the movie’s best quotes, standout characters (including Matt, Dustin, Eric, and the infamous Sweet Lou), and the soundtrack that kept the hosts coming back for repeat viewings.

Music. The Box Office Bucket List crew dives into The Book of Eli — a gritty, post‑apocalyptic road trip starring Denzel Washington, Mila Kunis and Gary Oldman. They unpack the film's bleak atmosphere, striking visual tones, brutal encounters, barter economy, and the powerful reveal. Monday Aug 25, 2025

In this episode the hosts riff on movies and wild theories, starting with Forrest Gump — including a conspiracy that Forrest Jr. might not be Forrest’s biological son. They unpack scenes, timelines, and emotions from the film, compare it to details from the original book (where Forrest’s story gets even stranger with wrestling and an orangutan astronaut), and argue about Jenny’s choices and motivations.

Tim derails the episode with memories of The Whitest Kids U Know and Trevor Moore. The episode blends pop-culture analysis, heated yet playful debate, and casual anecdotes for a relaxed, entertaining conversation.

Listeners can expect movie trivia, alternative plot theories, book-versus-film differences, and a lot of banter as the group defends, mocks, and ultimately celebrates these familiar films.
